A land information memorandum (LIM) is a document issued (at your request and on payment of a fee) by a territorial authority such as the Christchurch City Council. Anyone may apply for a LIM which contains information on any land within the territorial authority district.

I understand that a Land Information Memorandum (LIM) is a document issued by a territorial authority such as the Christchurch City Council, under s44A of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987. Anyone may apply for a LIM which contains information on a specified property within the Council's district.

I understand the LIM is required to be paid for as soon as possible by customers who do not have an account with Christchurch City Council. (Please refer to the fee schedule for the latest charges). When both a completed form and payment have been received we will process your application within 10 working days or less. Failure to pay the fee will result in the LIM being cancelled and, if any processing of the LIM had commenced, a fee for the cancellation being invoiced to you.

I understand this LIM will not include all information and plans on the property file and to get a copy of the property file I am required to request this separately by emailing a property file request form to propertyfiles@ccc.govt.nz or by calling (03) 941 8999. Please refer to the fee schedule for the latest property file charges.

Cancelling a LIM

I must contact the Council by submitting a LIM cancellation form, sending an email to CCCLIMs@ccc.govt.nz or sending a fax to (03) 941 8049 to cancel a LIM application.

I understand that there will be a cancellation fee payable when the LIM application has been entered into the LIM system. Please refer to our fee schedule for latest charges.

I understand that if the LIMs team has started processing or has fully processed my LIM, I cannot cancel it.

For a Fast Track LIM application:
