This project will provide access to the coastline between Ferrymead and Scarborough Beach in Sumner. It will connect communities along its route, and protect and enhance wildlife habitat.
The proposed six-kilometre Christchurch Coastal Pathway will cater for children, pedestrians, cyclists, skateboarders, and people using scooters and wheelchairs. Wraight Associates worked with the Council and Coastal Pathway Group to produce the first stage of the concept. The concept includes outlining how future construction will be integrated with SCIRT repair works, and ways of minimising costs and disturbances.
