The Waimairi Walkway is a flat walk in a riverside and rural landscape. There are several stiles to cross.

From the Groynes car park, walk along the riverside track to the pump house (10 min). At this point the track divides into two branches - turn left onto The River Track, or turn right onto Farm Track. You can go either way as the route is circular.

River Track follows along the river's edge, crossing several paddocks. There are seats under the shade of willow trees beside the river and several stiles to cross.

The track then leaves the river and passes through a poplar avenue before reaching a car park off Darroch Street.
