Take the opportunity to enjoy a tramping experience on the city's doorstep.
Around half of the 150 hectare Ohinetahi Bush Reserve has suffered damage from the recent fires. Take particular care in these areas.
The tracks in Ohinetahi are managed by the Summit Road Society(external link). There is plenty of information about the area as well as a detailed map on their website.
Dogs are prohibited on these tracks.
Facilities available at Sign of the Bellbird and Governors Bay Hall.
The terrain is steep and most tracks are narrow, requiring reasonable fitness and surefootedness. Tramping boots are recommended.
Access the reserve from either the Summit Road or Governors Bay and create your own circuit.
